A stay at the Bacon Mansion is the perfect place from which to launch your Seattle vacation. Come back to our comfortable rooms after you spend the day discovering all that Seattle and the Puget Sound region has to offer. We truly have a vast array of things to do that should fit everyone's interest. Attractions, activities, sights, museums, and dining experiences are only the beginning of what the Seattle, Washington area has to offer. Seattle definitely deserves more than one night.
We have a great central location just two blocks from the Broadway shopping and restaurant district here on Capitol Hill. We are just over one mile north of downtown Seattle. We consider it an urban forest with great architectural variety.
It also happens to be perfect for walks or runs through the residential streets. Volunteer Park is just a couple of blocks up the hill, with a water tower that offers a great view after climbing only 114 steps. It is at least $20 cheaper than the Space Needle or free.
There is also the Seattle Asian Art Museum and Conservatory in the park. Capitol Hill is an ever-evolving neighborhood with excellent public transportation bus service and a Light Rail station that opened March 2016 to Sea-Tac airport, downtown and the University of Washington. The clubs are at the other end of the hill, about one mile away—so close enough, yet far enough away.
Almost every visitor asks us how far we are from Pike Place Market. It is about 2 miles away. The bus (one block away) will take you to the heart of the downtown shopping district and within two blocks of the Market. The Elliot Bay waterfront is on the other side of the market where you can catch a Washington State Ferry, Harbor or Locks Tour, visit the Aquarium, or discover the Sculpture Park.
The Space Needle and Seattle Center are just northwest of downtown and you can take the monorail from the shopping district right to its base. The Seattle Public Library is a very talked about building downtown as well as the recently expanded Seattle Art Museum.
The buses are free in the downtown zone. That includes the oldest part of Pioneer Square which offers a historic Underground Tour. Seattle also has a streetcar from the shopping district to South Lake Union and from Capitol Hill to the International District near the Stadiums, a booming neighborhood for condos and the biotech industry, and Amazon just to the west of us on the other side of I-5.
We are happy to answer any of your questions so you have the best experience here in Seattle.
Nice variety just two blocks down the street, Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, Bar and Grill, Sushi, and Vietnamese. We recently have gained two gourmet restaurants that are excellent. One is Poppy and the other is Lionhead by the renowned chef of the Herbfarm. Both are very popular and have been an instant hit. We can make reservations at these two if you would like us to.
